If you are a Mechanical Design Engineer with the ability to develop the design of mechanical equipment to a level sufficient for manufacture and functionality within heavily regulated industry, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will provide engineering design solutions as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team in the delivery of major projects or workstreams. You will be responsible for producing engineering concept, scheme and detailed design solutions to meet contracted requirements.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Producing engineering concepts and technical solutions compliant with company and international standards, with minimal supervision, but with regular consultation with the Project Engineering Manager, Principal Engineer, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer or other team members.
- Developing the design of mechanical equipment to a level sufficient for manufacture and functionality
- Providing the technical production and checking of design and design support documents and ensuring completion within required timescales
- Carrying out all aspects of the design process, including draughting, testing of products and other organizational tasks to ensure timely progress of projects
- Managing the substantiation/validation of design output
- Issuing engineering documents, as required
- Providing technical liaison with Clients and Suppliers
About you…
- You will hold a minimum of a Level 4 qualification (e.g. HNC) in a relevant Engineering discipline
- You will demonstrate knowledge of engineering delivery processes
- You will have experience in 2D/3D CAD for manufacturing (using SolidWorks or similar) and draughting
- You will have experience in substantiation and validation of engineering design
- Ideally, you will have experience of working within a heavily regulated industry (e.g. nuclear, food, rail, etc.)
