Financial Controller – Growing Business
📍 Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme
💰 Salary: Up to £70,000 + Bonus
📆 Job Type: Full-Time | Hybrid (1 day WFH post-probation)
About the Role
A well-established and growing business is looking for a Financial Controller to lead and enhance its finance operations. This is a key leadership role, overseeing financial reporting, compliance, and strategic decision-making within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Oversee preparation of month-end, year-end, and statutory accounts
✔ Manage the audit process, VAT returns, and compliance
✔ Lead and develop a finance team of seven
✔ Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
✔ Contribute to financial strategy and decision-making
✔ Develop costing and pricing models
✔ Manage debtors, creditors, and cash flow forecasting
✔ Build and maintain strong relationships with financial partners, auditors, and stakeholders
✔ Drive process improvements and system enhancements
What We're Looking For:
✅ Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
✅ 3+ years of experience as a Financial Controller
✅ Team management experience
✅ Experience with financial system implementation/upgrades
✅ FMCG sector experience (desirable)
✅ Sage experience (desirable)
✅ Strong analytical and decision-making skills
