Maintenance Engineer

This family-owned and run manufacturing business has been dedicated to producing high-quality products for over 100 years. Based in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent, they have experienced a huge growth cycle due to the success of their much-loved product, which is shipped globally. As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production machinery and will play a crucial role in maintaining the business’s long-standing high standards of productivity, efficiency and safety. This role is offered on a days-only basis, with minimal work required at weekends and early finishes on Fridays. You will have the option of overtime and, on occasion, be required to cover urgent maintenance tasks during evenings, weekends or during busy periods. About the role:
- Conduct planned and reactive maintenance, repairs and testing on production equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ensuring minimal disruption to production
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards
About you:
- Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with expertise in troubleshooting and repairing machinery
- Ability to diagnose and repair various electrical systems
- Knowledge of equipment to include motor overloads, contactors, variable speed drives and relays
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3
- 18th Edition is preferred
