Job description
As a Senior Solar Electrician, you will oversee and conduct installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. As the contract grows you will become a manager a team of electricians, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards while delivering high-quality projects. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership, and a passion for renewable energy. Reporting into the Head Office in Sheffield, you will be required to work mainly north of Northampton.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the installation, inspection, and testing of solar PV systems (working on flats) Troubleshoot and repair electrical components in solar power systems Oversee and mentor a team of electricians Manage project timelines, ensuring jobs are completed on schedule Perform system performance analysis and diagnostics Coordinate with other trades and contractors on site Provide excellent customer service and handle client inquiries Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities Train recruits in state of the art solar system being used
Qualifications:
Certified Electrician with a focus on solar energy Extensive experience in solar PV installation and maintenance Experience with inverters, solar panels, racking systems, and batteries Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills Leadership experience, managing teams or supervising projects Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications Excellent communication skills and attention to detail Valid driver’s license and clean driving recordPreferred Qualifications:
City and Guilds or NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent) Experience with large-scale solar projects Knowledge of battery storage systemsBenefits:
